• US Chess Foundation (USCF) Rated (K – 12)
• Scholastic K-12

While local enthusiasm for chess is at an all-time high, our community has historically lacked the regular tournament circuits found in bigger cities. We are proud to fill that gap with our quarterly tournaments, which now officially serve as state qualifiers for the Washington State Elementary Chess Championship. This community-backed effort is led by Priya Ramanathan, member of SNV Foundation and Nikhil Subramanian, SNV Foundation's Youth Event Coordinator.

We believe chess is about more than just winning games—it’s a powerful tool for youth development. Through structured, competitive play, young players build emotional resilience, sharp critical thinking, and confidence. They learn to make decisions under pressure, set goals, and bounce back from losses. Our consistent tournament circuit gives students a fun, supportive space to respect their opponents, track their growth, and build essential skills for academic and lifelong success.
